Drama 2,3,4 explores the rhythmic potentials of the natural sounds created by simple movements. The piece uses repetition and gradual exaggeration of sound and movement to create a trance like state of semantic saturation, removing meaning or significance to each gesture. Once this technique builds momentum, aural and visual narratives form, creating humorous and absurd scenes; Three dancers’ hands tapping across the floor with concentrated expressions, like a pianist performing a difficult sonata. The sounds created by the dancers are subtly amplified through microphones, used as a way to manipulate the audience’s sensory experience.
